Since DVDAuthor is command-line driven, graphical front-end programs have been created to to help make it easier to use. Some of these only provide a direct interface to DVDAuthor, while others encapulate the process from compressing video to burning the DVD.

Linux

DVDStyler - A cross-platform GUI which is under active development.

Varsha - Java-based GUI which seems pretty far along. Import movies or jpegs, create menus, and burn the final DVD.

Q DVD-Author - Currently in alpha. Also provides an interface to DVD Slideshow.

Polidori - Gnome GUI in its very early stages whose development seems to have been halted.

DVD Slideshow - Not a GUI, but a series of powerful BASH scripts that which let you create a slideshow of images, complete with menus and image captions.

HTML2DVD - Convert HTML files to a DVD

WebDVD - Convert multiple HTML files to a DVD, using Mozilla to render them. This actually has a command-line interface but provides a GUI preview mode. Currently in early stages of development.

tovid - A collection of tools for authoring VCDs, SVCDs, and DVDs with both command-line and graphical user interfaces.

Windows

DVDAuthorGUI - Inputs elemental streams, subtitles, images, and muxed mpeg files. Graphical menu creation, basic command scripting, and ability to output an ISO. Has the unique feature of letting you edit the XML file for DVDAuthor before the final creation takes place. Tends to use the latest DVDAuthor alpha releases.

DVDStyler - A cross-platform GUI which is under active development. Good menu creation (text buttons) and optional ISO output, but other features are still pretty limited.

GUI for dvdauthor - Takes muxed mpegs or elemental streams, lets you create menus and creates an ISO image. Also has a preview function.

DIKO - DIKO is a wizard-style program geared toward taking a full-length movie in AVI form (with optional subtitles) and creating a DVD. It also lets you create a simple menu. From the creator of the FreeEnc encoder. Freeware, but not open source. There is also a Gold with more features which is US$20.

DVD Hive - Discontinued wizard-style interface.

DVD Swarm - Discontinued program from the makers of DVD Hive, which lets you batch the creation of multiple DVDs.

HTML2DVD - Convert HTML files to a DVD

DVD slideshow GUI - Produce and author slideshows.
